The annual Ukrainian Pysanka Festival takes place the first weekend in
July in Vegreville, 50 km (31 mi) east of the Ukrainian Cultural
Heritage Village. The three-day festival has music, dance, displays,
parades, and Ukrainian food. Stop and see the "world's largest Easter
egg" (pysanka), measuring 31 feet tall, at the east end of the
town's main street. The colorfully decorated egg consists of more than
3,500 pieces of aluminum.
